On her first day, New York Governor Kathy Hokul announced plans to require masks and vaccinations at school.

Hours after being sworn in as the first female governor of New York, Kathy Hokul delivered her first speech from Albany, presenting an agenda focused primarily on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Hochul noted on Monday that the Food and Drug Administration had fully approved the Pfizer vaccine, resulting in “New Yorkers can expect new vaccine requirements.”

New York is preparing for the distribution of booster shots, Hokul said, adding that he consulted with Dr. Anthony Fauci to ensure that “they will be distributed quickly and reliably.”

“It starts with a dramatic change in culture, is accountable, and has no tolerance for cross-border individuals,” Hokuru said.

She also announced that she would “review the state policy on sexual harassment and ethics” and require all New York employees to have live ethics training classes.
