Ontario Premier Doug Ford is negative after staff members test positive for COVID-19

Toronto — Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford has been quarantined in Toronto after a member of the staff who was in close contact with him tested positive for COVID-19.

A statement from Ford’s office late Tuesday says the premiere tested negatively.

It says Ford will follow all public health advice for close contact.

The statement states that members of Premier’s office staff, who were in close contact with individuals who tested positive, would also be isolated.

Ford’s office states that it is seeking additional guidance from Toronto Public Health for all precautions that premier and quarantine staff must follow.

According to the statement, Ford will continue to lead the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic in isolation, including briefings with officials and communication with the general public.
