Outbreak of COVID-19 ends the cruise

AIDAnova was berthed in Lisbon on December 29 with 2,844 passengers and 1,353 crew members on its way to Madeira Island to celebrate New Year’s Eve, with 52 COVID-19s completely detected. Later, Aida Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation, who was unable to continue the journey, did not respond to Reuters’ request for comment. Reuters footage showed that passengers were still having fun. The afternoon sunshine was on the deck with a drink, and local media said the disembarkation would begin after 6 am on Monday (January 3).
