Republican Government Supports Mississippi Abortion Prohibition Act
Over a dozen Republican governors and more than 200 GOP lawmakers are participating in a court battle over Mississippi law to limit abortion. The results could affect similar measures across the country. On Thursday, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster’s lawyer, the leader of the Governor’s efforts, submitted an Amikas Brief to the US Supreme Court to support Mississippi. Last week, the Mississippi Republican Attorney General submitted a document calling on the Supreme Court to overturn the 1973 groundbreaking Roe v. Wade case that legalized abortion nationwide.
