Police have warned of an increase in car thefts for two specific car brands. Are you one of them?

Forest park police have warned residents that Kia and Hyundai car thefts are on the rise locally. Reported in other cities Nationwide.

Theft is mainly due to Kia cars since 2011 and Hyundai cars since 2015.

Police said the theft of these types of cars has increased nationwide after gaining popularity on social media.

Individuals have posted tips on social media showing how to start these cars without using a key.

Forest Park police say six of these vehicle brands have been reported stolen from large apartments at night since June 21st.

In 2021, Milwaukee experienced a wave of car theft officials due to a gang called “Kia Boy”.

• Consider an aftermarket alert system or anti-theft device

• Report any suspicious activity, especially in the evening or at night.
