Preliminary magnitude 6.4 Joruto earthquake South Japan — NHK

Tokyo — Early Saturday morning, a preliminary magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck southern Japan, broadcaster NHK reported.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter of the quake was off the coast of Kyushu, the southernmost tip of Japan’s four major islands.

According to the broadcasting station NHK, no tsunami warning was issued and there was no immediate report of damage.
