MANSONVILLE, Quebec — Quebec police are investigating a deadly early morning fire in the province’s eastern townships.
Firefighters were called to a building containing a commercial garage and home in the village of Mansonville, near the Vermont border, around 4 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Police spokesman sergeant. Catherine Barnard says firefighters found one body after the blaze was brought under control.
She says they were unable to identify the individuals or determine whether they were male or female.
Bernard says police will investigate to determine both the person’s cause of death and the cause of the fire, but they remain unknown.
She said the main criminal investigation unit will conduct an investigation.
