Quebec police guard dogs are investigating the death of a man who allegedly jumped into a river northeast of Montreal to evade police.
According to the Bureau de senquĂȘtes indĂ©pendantes, police divers found the body of a 27-year-old man hours after police tried to stop the man’s car.
According to security guards, police tried to stop the vehicle driving with the headlights turned off at around 1:20 am, and the driver refused to stop the vehicle and started tracking.
Independent police surveillance agencies say the driver parked his car about a kilometer away on a driveway at St-Lin-Laurentides in Que.
The man reportedly ran away on foot before allegedly jumping into the nearby Jardine River.
State police told the guards that the man had sought help, but they lost sight of him.
