SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Bobby Wagner delivered one of his biggest hits to anyone on the field.
A Rams linebacker flattened a protester who ran the field with a pink-smoke-emitting device late in the second quarter of a game against the San Francisco 49ers in Los Angeles on Monday night.
With less than 1 minute remaining in the first half, he entered the field and ran while being chased by security guards while the field was filled with pink smoke.
As the man ran toward the Rams’ sideline, linebacker tackerist McKinley came toward him before Wagner laid him out with a big hit off the sideline.
The protesters were cleared from the field by security and the game was immediately restarted.
Early in the game, another person tried to enter the field with a similar device, but was stopped by security.
