Miami (AP) — Rapper Kodak Black was arrested in South Florida on suspicion of trafficking in Oxycodone and possession of controlled substances.

Rapper, whose legal name is Bill Capri, was put in jail in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Friday, awaiting a hearing.

The Florida Highway Patrol said in a release that soldiers pulled Black because they were driving a purple SUV with window shades that looked darker than legal limits.

They detected the smell of marijuana and searched the SUV for a small transparent bag containing 31 white pills and about $ 75,000 in cash. The tablet was later identified as oxycodone.

According to the agency, checking the records also revealed that both the black vehicle tag and the driver’s license have expired.

“There are always additional facts and circumstances that provoke defense, especially in this case,” Black lawyer Bradford Cohen said on Twitter.

“We will build a bond with him today and work to resolve the issue quickly,” he said.

Black was also arrested earlier this year in South Florida on suspicion of trespassing. The prosecutor later refused to proceed with the case.

In January 2020, then President Donald Trump commuted the three-year federal prison sentence that Rapper had for tampering with the documents used to purchase weapons. Black served about half of his judgment.

Rapper is one of the artists in the Rolling Loud Festival 2022 lineup starting next Friday. He will perform on July 24th.

Black has sold over 30 million singles and has recorded several blockbusters, including his latest “Super Gremlin.” It reached third place on the Billboard Hot 100 this year, and a remix was released earlier this year by DJ David Guetta.

Other black smash hits include “Zeze,” “No Flockin’,” and “Rollin Peace.”
