Perry Green and the conservative lawmaker have been married for more than 27 years, according to court documents seen by insiders. The congressman wrote that he was in a “true state of segregation”.

He also added that their marriage is now “irrevocably broken”.

However, Perry Green also called for the divorce to be sealed and filed, saying, “The records contain confidential personal and financial information, the disclosure of which would adversely affect the privacy interests of the parties.”

Marjorie Taylor-Green admitted to receiving a divorce petition on Wednesday, according to court documents.

When contacted for comment on Wednesday, a representative for the House of Representatives told an insider that the divorce was a “private and personal matter.”
