In the matter of benefiting lazy people, sweeping robot manufacturers can be said to have exhausted their minds in the past few years. Functions such as mopping the floor and automatic dust collection have been realized one after another, and the cleaning links that users need to participate in personally have become less and less. The newly released Roborock G10 sweeping and mopping robot not long ago introduced two killer tricks: automatic cleaning mop and automatic water replenishment. The existence of the two can theoretically solve common problems such as the more and more dirty mops of similar products and the need for frequent water replenishment when mopping the floor. But in actual use, do they really make lazy people feel at ease? The answer to this question, I will tell you now.
Exterior design
Compared with many previous products of Rock, especially the recent T7S series, the robot body of G10 is not much different in shape. The device is still in the shape of a round pie, with a protruding laser ranging sensor on the top. As usual, there is a row of three physical buttons on one side of the sensor. The dimensions of the fuselage are 353x350x96.5mm, and the passing ability in the horizontal and vertical directions is similar to the past. After lifting the movable top cover, the dust box can be taken out from the inside, and the filter inside also supports water washing as in the past.
The front of the robot is equipped with a collision buffer module and charging contacts, and the rear side is an electronically controlled water tank. Just gently pinch the buckle to withdraw the water tank from the device. Turned to the bottom, in the middle is the main wheel that can cross the obstacle 2cm and the detachable soft rubber main brush, the front is the universal wheel and the carpet sensor, and the side is still the usual single-sided brush. The back half of the chassis plays the role of mopping the floor. After tearing off the monolithic mop on the surface, you can see the sonic vibration module hidden inside. In addition, the mopping module, like the T7S, will automatically lift and stop the water as needed. Its movable height is up to 5mm, so there is no problem avoiding normal carpets.

Although the G10 robot looks familiar, the supporting charging base is completely different from before, because you also rely on it to automatically replenish the robot with water and clean the mop. Since the fortress is filled with a clean water tank and a waste water tank with a volume of 2.9L, and space is needed for the cleaning mechanism, the size of the G10 base has come to 487x412x391mm. When changing the water, the opening height will reach 694mm, which cannot be ignored in any case. Before buying, you must first determine whether there is enough space in your home for display.
A winding groove is reserved on the back of the base, which is convenient for users to put away the excess length of wires. The bottom plate protrudes forward in the form of a small slope. The reason for this design is to prevent water from splashing outside when the robot “reverses and enters the storage” to clean the mop, and on the other hand, it is because the equipment is driving in. When charging, keep the mop as far away from the ground as possible to facilitate natural drying. In addition, the base is in black and white color matching as a whole, and there is a strip light on the front that can display the status of charging, cleaning mop, abnormality, etc. in different colors. The robot itself weighs 4.7kg, and the base with water weighs about 11.5kg. So although the official advertises that the G10 supports multi-floor switching and cleaning, I believe that most ordinary people will not use it in this way.
Sweep performance
Sanji Feng / Engadget Chinese
The built-in fan in G10 is the same as the T7 and T7S series, and can provide up to 2,500Pa suction. Cooperating with Stone’s good path planning algorithm, except that some corners are limited by the type of equipment and need to be manually repaired and cleaned up, it can be said that the sweep is comprehensive and clean in general. The noise during the cleaning process is as high as about 60dB, which I personally think is acceptable. In the part of avoiding obstacles, the author himself has not encountered a situation where the robot needs to be rescued. Of course, this is related to the storage and living habits of different people. In other words, it is strange that the 3D structured light that appeared on the T7S Plus was not inherited by the G10. I hope the stone can be used in subsequent models.Squeeze out toothpasteFill it up, it would be better if it could identify a pet poo or something.
Next is the mopping function of the G10 core. Because of the addition of automatic water replenishment and automatic backwashing, the practicality of this function is greatly enhanced compared to before. With the “logistics” guarantee, the equipment can be cleaned continuously on a large area even when there is no one. More importantly, the water tank can become more “unscrupulous” when moistening the mop, which is very helpful in erasing stains. Another great contributor to decontamination is the sonic vibration module hidden in the middle of the inside of the mop. It can perform up to 3,000 linear lateral vibrations per minute. According to the author’s test, even the relatively difficult stain G10 can handle well.
Specifically, the author dripped cola, soy sauce, ketchup, barbecue sauce, and honeydew juice on the tiles. After drying overnight, some of them even turned into sticky jelly. At the beginning of the official test, I first used the “Daily Mopping” mode to mop the floor to the maximum level. As a result, the cola and oil juice were a little bit lightened, and the melon juice, ketchup, and soy sauce were almost unchanged and still very sticky. The next step is to switch to the “fine” mode of pure mopping. Although water is still used, the oil and cola have been completely removed. At this time, the traces of soy sauce and honeydew melon juice can’t be seen clearly with the naked eye, and there will be a little stickiness when touched by hand, and the ketchup has faded but is still visible to the naked eye.
Then the author filled the water tank with the official cleaning fluid that came with the G10, and re-executed the “fine mopping”. After the end, except for a few pieces of “tomato jelly” that were still scattered on the ground, other stains no longer existed. In the end, the author dragged it “finely” again, and now the look and feel of the tiles are completely restored to a clean state. So the conclusion is that the G10 can almost replace manpower in the daily mopping of the floor. Even in the face of very stubborn stains, it has enough ability to deal with it. As for which is stronger than the rotating mop type robot? The author has not yet experienced another kind of not daring to make judgments. I can only say that leaving my home to G10, I can rest assured.
Software control

Although Stone has been untied from Xiaomi for a long time in publicity, their products are still well embedded in the latter’s ecological chain, so the robot can be controlled smoothly regardless of whether it is through Mijia or Stone’s own app. As in the past, you can still see the complete cleaning path of the G10 very clearly in the software, and even its backwashing path will be marked with a dotted line, which is very convenient for the user to grasp the robot’s dynamics. At the same time, practical functions such as partition cleaning management, timed task setting, remote cleaning, and consumable replacement reminders can still be found in the app. In order to better improve the mopping efficiency, you can also customize the cleaning order of different partitions. Clean the relatively clean areas together so that the number of backwashes can be reduced as much as possible. In addition, the sweeping and mopping intensity of different areas can of course be set separately.

As mentioned at the beginning, there are still three physical buttons on the top of the G10 robot, which correspond to the functions of recharging, switching/cleaning, and partial cleaning/child lock. The author believes that many consumers buy floor sweeping and mopping robots for the purpose of filial piety. In this case, the existence of buttons is necessary. In terms of personal experience, before “entrusting” the robot to the elders, I usually set up the complicated settings on my mobile phone, and then tell them to just press the button and clean the dust box and mop regularly. In order to pursue the so-called intelligence (and cost saving), some manufacturers will deliberately make products that are not compatible with mobile phones. I personally think that this approach is undesirable, especially for some home appliances, which often turns the cart before the horse.
Battery life, clean up
Sanji Feng / Engadget Chinese
Like the previous stone products, the G10 has a built-in 5,200mAh battery, and the official battery life is “up to 2.5 hours.” According to the author’s own test, the home shows a cleaning area of about 45 square meters. In the “daily mopping” mode where the sweeping and suction intensity is turned to the maximum, the electricity consumed by cleaning in a circle for almost 40 minutes is 34%. If you want to vacuum first and then clean in the pure “fine mopping” mode without vacuuming, the power of Max will drop from full power to 69% after vacuuming. After the robot drags the floor with dense Z font, the remaining power is 44% .
Regarding the endurance of water, the official said that with a 20-minute backwash, the “daily mopping” mode and standard strength are selected, a full 2.9L water tank can drag up to 400 square meters of construction area. According to the actual measurement, the house has a building area of close to 120 square meters. Before and after the water is full, it can be dragged four times in the “daily” mode and Max mopping intensity. Therefore, the data given by the stone is basically credible. Of course, the water tanks also support anhydrous and in-position detection, and the system will remind the user to add water or drain when needed.
In terms of cleaning, the main brush, side brush, and dust box are all as easy to take care of as in the past. After the main brush has been changed to a soft rubber brush in the past two generations, the entanglement of the hair has also been greatly improved. The volume of the dust box is 470mL. Generally, there is no need to open the lid and pour it out every time you finish cleaning. As for the mop that everyone is most concerned about, unless it is a special stain on the ground, it is usually cleaned and handed over to the base to clean it in a standard mode. The self-cleaning system built by Stone for G10 is connected to the clean water tank through the peristaltic pump, and underneath is the rolling brush and scraper. When washing the mop, the base will first spray water to wet the step, then let the brush roll over the cloth, and then use the scraper to scrape off the dirt and sewage. This process will reciprocate from side to side several times. After about two minutes with the intensity of the “daily washing”, the robot can go back with a basically clean mop and continue cleaning.
If you drag it to more serious stains like the previous test, the mop can be restored to a usable state after using a stronger and longer time-consuming “power wash” on the base. But after cleaning, it is best to remove the mop and wash it by hand. The cleaning of the base itself is mainly to remove the brush and the filter on the right after a period of time. Although the dirty water will be sucked away when washing the mop, the brush and net will still leave hair and other dirt. Finally, the G10 lifting mop has a good effect of natural air drying. The author hasn’t smelled any peculiar smell until now, and there is no need to worry about the sealing of the sewage tank.
Concluding remarks
Sanji Feng / Engadget Chinese
The slogan used by Stone to promote G10 this time is “You just need to press “Start””. After the experience, the author admits that this sentence is really not exaggerated. With the blessing of the two functions of automatic cleaning mop and automatic water replenishment, G10 can be said to truly liberate users. In daily use, you may not have to worry about the “big” guy on the wall for a week or even two. Over time, maybe even your cleaning skills will “degenerate”.
But for busy modern people, this kind of “degradation” is not necessarily a good thing… Moreover, the price of 3,999 yuan is not very high. Laziness is the biggest driving force for technological progress, and the Rock G10 proves this again.
