Rome’s Cinecitta Studio wants a new golden age for cinema

From Federico Fellini to Sophia Loren, Rome’s famous Cinecitta film studio, once the stepping stone for Italy’s greatest directors and actors, is planning a long-awaited image change for a new era. Cinecitta, dubbed “Hollywood on the Tiber,” was the center of the golden age of Italian cinema and now hopes to regain some of its former brilliance, thanks to post-pandemic funding from the European Union.
