Ukrainian runners show national pride at the Boston Marathon
Faced with hills and headwinds at the Boston Marathon, Dmytro Molchanov couldn’t stop thinking of his friends and family who had returned to Ukraine. “When it was really hard, I tried to push without giving up. It’s like fighting myself like the Ukrainians are fighting Russia now,” he said after crossing the finish line on Monday. Told. “Basically, it’s really hard to be here while all my family, friends and Ukrainians are fighting there for peace in my country, Europe and the whole world.”
