Trish Kinane resigns as “American Idol” showrunner
Trish Kinane is an “American Idol” showrunner and has resigned as president of Fremantle’s entertainment show. Megan Michaels Wolfrick replaces her as the lead “idol” producer. Kinane (pictured above, top left) will continue to be an “American Idol” as executive producer and consultant, Fremantle said Thursday. “The last decade of Trish’s leadership, infinite creativity and contribution to Fremantle is immeasurable,” said Jennifer Mullin, Global CEO of Fremantle, Thursday. “She has an exciting thirst for innovation and I’m glad she’s with us in a new role. ABC revived the song competition in 2018. Kelly Clarkson won the first season of the famous “idol”. Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie are all judges for the ABC season. The Sunday season 19 showdown between finalists Grayskinstrahl, Willie Spence and Chais Beckham will begin on 8 / 7c at ABC. Beyond Clarkson, the “idol” winners are: Ruben Staddard (2003), Fantasia Barrino (2004), Carrie Underwood (2005), Taylor Hicks (2006), Joe Dance Sparks (2007), David Cook (2008), Kris Allen (2009), Lee DeWyze (2010), Scotty McCreery (2011), Phillip Phillips (2012), Candice Glover (2013), Caleb Johnson (2014), Nick Fradiani (2015), Trent Harmon (2016), Maddie Poppe (2018), Rain Hardy (2019) and Just Sam (2020).
