Russian telegram channel Mash reported that Yankina called her ex-husband before falling out of a window and dying.

Yankina’s death follows the deaths of many Russian officials in unusual or unexplained circumstances since Putin launched a provocative war against Ukraine almost a year ago.

Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s Interior Minister, pointed this out in a tweet on Thursday regarding Yankina’s death.

Most recently, dismissed Russian Interior Ministry Major General Vladimir Makarov was found dead of an apparent suicide this week. The Moscow Times reported.
