Seven dead in Texas highway accident. 1 critically ill


New Braunfels, Texas (AP) — Seven people were killed Tuesday after young SUV passengers were involved in a head-on collision on a Texas highway.

A two-lane road in suburban Comar County near San Antonio collided Sunday night between an SUV and a pickup truck in the oncoming lane.

Another young passenger in the SUV was taken to a San Antonio hospital in critical condition, according to the DPS.

The male driver and passenger of the Ford F-150 pickup truck were pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations showed that the pickup truck had collided head-on with the SUV on the farm-to-market road, officials said.

DPS said no one else was involved in the crash. No other details were announced immediately.
