According to Sony, after the store is closed, players will no longer be able to purchase games, DLC or Krypton content on the corresponding device. However, games and content that have been purchased or received can still be re-downloaded through the download list. The PlayStation Plus redemption code is still valid, but players will not be able to use gift cards to recharge their accounts. In addition, the balance in the player’s PSN account will not be affected by this change, but future consumption can only be done in PS4, PS5, PSN web store or PS app.

“This move is to concentrate resources on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 PlayStation Store, so as to provide players with a better experience.” Sony said in a statement.
