Ottawa-Statistics Canada is urging people to complete this year’s census to avoid visiting the door during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Authorities said census enumerators would begin calling households that had not yet submitted a completed questionnaire later this month.
It says “every attempt will be made” to contact people by phone before the enumerator initiates a direct visit, encouraging people to do so and provide assistance if necessary. I will.
According to Statistics Canada, no one enters a home or a place like a long-term care facility because of health risks.
The agency says they will interview family members outside while they are physically separated, wearing masks and using hand sanitizers frequently.
So far, millions of households are said to have submitted the 2021 census.
