Students return to school after vacation amid Covid’s surge

Parents in Taiwan take their children to school as their students return after a Lunar New Year holiday amid a surge in local Covid infections. The Taiwanese government has been vigilant after the holiday season, and although the overall number remains relatively small, it has re-implemented a series of enhancements to curb the spread of the virus. Taiwan has begun vaccination of children over the age of 12, but plans to extend the program to younger children have not yet been announced.
