Turkey sentenced wife of Kurdish politician imprisoned for medical report
The wife of Serahattin Demirtus, a prominent Kurdish opposition, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in Turkey after a medical report revealed that she provided inaccurate information over dates. Basak Demirtus, a 44-year-old lawyer, said in a 2015 medical report issued by a doctor in southeastern Dyalbakur from the court on the wrong date that she gave it to her employer while she was on sick leave.
