The US Olympic women’s basketball team is once again dominating this year’s event, winning one of seven consecutive victories at the Tokyo Olympics after defeating Serbia in the semifinals.
Brittney Griner of Texas and Breanna Stewart of New York had a double double that helped Team USA to defeat Serbs 79-59 at Saitama Super Arena in Japan on Friday.
Serbia finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds and did not have a good match against Greener, who led the Americans in the game, but Stewart added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
“Looking back at the game, I really don’t remember who did what, what they did, who scored how many points,” he said, playing for the WNBA Phoenix Mercury and joining the 2016 Olympic Championship team. Greener, who was doing, said.
“I just enjoyed it with everyone and just remember getting the money,” she added.

Team USA’s next goal is to make their first appearance in the Olympic semi-finals on Sunday, aiming for the seventh straight victory between the French women’s team and the winner of the playoffs against the host country Japan.
“This is exactly where we want it,” Stewart told reporters after the match. “Everything is going well. I will do everything I can to get home with my money.”
The US women’s team wins because it is comparable to the US men’s team, which won the Olympic title seven times in a row from 1936 to 1968.
American coach Dawn Staley, who is also a basketball hall of fame player, said today’s match was not the best overall performance for the team after defeating Serbia in the semifinals.
“Aggressively, I just thought I had enough points on the scoreboard to win,” Starley said. Said.. “It wasn’t as clean and fluid as we wanted, but at this stage of the game we had to win in different ways and we found a way to win.”
On Thursday, the US men’s team defeated Australia in the semifinals 97-78 after opening in the third quarter. They will face France in a gold medal match on the night of August 6th. France defeated the United States in group play.
