The incident occurred in Eslov, 22 miles northeast of Malmo, Sweden’s third largest city. According to Westford, the motive for the attack was unknown, and it was not immediately clear whether teenagers were school students.

A nearby stadium was used to gather students and staff who were in the school building at the time of the incident.
