At today’s AI Day event, Elon Musk announced that Tesla is developing an AI-driven humanoid robot Tesla Bot. This product, like the Autopilot used in cars, relies heavily on artificial intelligence systems and will be used to replace humans in repetitive, dangerous, and boring tasks. You don’t need to give instructions step by step. According to Musk, words like “pick up the bolt and load it on the car” can already drive the Tesla Bot. In addition, it is also capable of daily tasks such as shopping for groceries.

Musk showed a picture of Tesla Bot at the event. According to the official introduction, it is about 1.7 meters tall and weighs about 56.7 kg. A screen for displaying information is installed at the position of the robot’s face. At the same time, it can also achieve “human hand” level operation, with a total of 40 joints driving up and down the whole body. The device can run as fast as about 8 miles per hour and can lift up to about 20 kilograms of heavy objects. Musk said with a smile that humans should be able to cope with such data, so even if the robots really rebel one day, everyone shouldn’t worry about survival.

Musk said that Tesla’s current plan is to make a prototype next year, but with such an ambitious plan, it is common for Tesla to delay something in the schedule, right?
