Tesla sells 54,391 Chinese-made vehicles in October: CPCA

Beijing — US electric vehicle maker Tesla sold 54,391 Chinese-made vehicles in October, 40,666 of which were for export, the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) said Monday.

Tesla, which manufactures Model 3 sedans and Model Y sports utility vehicles in Shanghai, sold 56,006 Chinese-made vehicles in September, of which 3,853 were exported.

Nio Inc, a Chinese EV maker. Sold 3,667 units last month, Xpeng Inc. Delivered 10,138 units. Volkswagen AG said it sold over 12,000 IDs. Series EV in China in October.

According to CPCA, passenger car sales in China totaled 1.74 million units in October, down 14% year-on-year.
