The British government, ask the citizens to house Ukraine of refugees

Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that the British government would ask the British people to open their homes to Ukrainians fleeing their own fighting.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the minister would ask individuals, charities, businesses and community groups to provide rooms to Ukrainian refugees through hotlines and web pages.

Johnson told Sky News on Thursday that level-up secretary Michael Gove will announce the program on Monday.

A government spokesman said the details of the scheme are still under construction.

“The route we have introduced follows a wide range of involvement with Ukrainian partners,” said a spokesman. “This is a rapidly changing and complex situation, and as the situation progresses, we will continue to support it under continuous review.”

Technical Minister Chris Philp told Sky News Friday that details of the plan will be announced “in the very near future.”

The British government is being pressured by both Conservative and opposition lawmakers to do more to accept Ukrainian refugees.

The European Union allows Ukrainian refugees to travel without visas, but the UK claims that visas are required to ensure safety.

On Thursday, Home Secretary Priti Patel announced that visa procedures for Ukrainian refugees have been simplified.

Under the new rules, Ukrainians with passports can apply for a visa “completely online” and do not need to submit biometric information until they arrive in the UK.

According to the United Nations, 2.5 million refugees have fled the war in Ukraine.

Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, wrote on Twitter on Friday: “The number of refugees from Ukraine has tragically reached 2.5 million today.”

The United Nations also estimates that about 2 million people are inside Ukraine.

On Thursday, the Prime Minister warned that the “cynical and barbaric” Russian government appears to be preparing to use chemical weapons in Ukraine.

“What you hear about chemical weapons comes directly from the Russian playbook,” he told Sky News.

“They begin to say that there are chemical weapons stored by enemies and Americans, so when they themselves deploy chemical weapons, as I fear, they are a kind of Maskilovka, a fake. I have a story. Go. “

This is because the UK Ministry of Defense (MoD) has warned that Russia may be relocated due to a “new attack” in Ukraine.

“This will probably include operations against the capital Kyiv,” a MoD statement said.
