Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard is facing a hefty lawsuit after a woman alleges she deliberately infected her with genital herpes, an incurable sexually transmitted disease.

The two first met in early 2018 at the Quest Diagnostics Institute, where Howard asked her out on a date. At the beginning of their relationship, he told her she had no STDs and even showed her negative test results.
According to the lawsuit, Howard learned he had genital herpes in 2019 but did not tell the woman. I started supporting it.
“Knowing of and without disclosure of his incurable sexually transmitted disease, Defendant Howard continued to have unprotected sex without informing Plaintiff,” the lawsuit read.
After being tested in 2021, she tested positive for a lifelong illness and knew Howard was the only person who “could have transmitted genital herpes” to her. , the lawsuit alleges.
Howard initially denied having herpes when confronting him about the results.
According to the lawsuit, he told her, “I was told I was sorry to give it to you.” “But what can you do now? There is damage. You keep growing it, as if it were to change.
After her diagnosis, the woman said Howard made her feel like she had no choice but to have sex with him because he could spread the disease to someone else.
“Frightened, confused, and unwilling to do to anyone else what Defendant Howard did to her, Plaintiff continued to have intercourse with Defendant Howard,” the lawsuit reveals.
Edwards Pottinger LLC, the law firm representing the women, has not reached out for comment at this time.
In April, Howard signed a new five-year deal worth $50.69 million in new amounts through the 2026 season. So far this season, Howard has recorded his breakup with the Dolphins with 20 tackles and his five passes, a team-high, and the Dolphins are on the road to Detroit in Week 8. He is out with 4 wins and 3 losses.
The Dolphins have not yet responded to a request for comment.
