Washington DCMayor Muriel Bowser has been praised by social media after gracefully closing a nasty question at the new LGBTQ + Shelter Ribbon Cut Ceremony.
The unidentified person who asked the question first praised the mayor for her work in the LGBTQ + community. The person then asked the mayor about her sexuality.
“Mayor, I’m a little worried because of this word that you’re a lesbian in the closet. Why is that?” He said.
The mayor laughed a little before replying.
“Well, I’m not in the closet,” she said with a graceful smile, and the crowd followed up with laughter and applause.
The unwavering mayor asked the man if he had anything else to say.
“What’s the question?” Bowser asked.
The mayor continues to applaud while the unidentified man is being dragged into social media.
The mayor was asked a strange question while talking to a reporter on Thursday after opening an LGBTQ + shelter.According to a statement from Mayor’s officeThe new shelter “is focused on providing housing and services to residents of the area who have experienced homelessness and are identified as LGBTQ +.”
“This building was previously used as a family shelter, but as the district continues to reduce family homelessness and new family shelters are open throughout the city. [it] It has been converted into a refuge for LGBTQ + residents, that is, residents who are unbalancedly affected by the homeless, “said the mayor.
