We are so tired of Donald Trump’s protofascism that we hardly blink when we learn that he tried to manipulate the 2020 elections. Still, the latest revelations should scare all Americans to their heart.

House Oversight Committee on Friday release In a memo on a December 27 phone call from Trump to then Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, Trump told Rosen: The note was taken by Rosen’s aide, Richard Donohue, who was also on the phone.
The release of these notes is largely undisturbed. The weekend news was more urgent, full of infrastructure. Delta stock! inflation! Forest fire! Given that everything else is happening, Trump’s bizarre efforts in the last few weeks of his presidency seem disgustingly irrelevant. Didn’t we already know how desperate he was?

Rosen apparently rejected Trump’s request. But what if Rosen followed Trump and told the American people that the elections were corrupt, and then “left behind” Trump and Republicans? What was the next move between Trump and the Republican Party? And who were Trump and Republicans in this attempted coup?
There is no mistake. This was a coup attempt.
Trump knew it. Just a few weeks ago, then Attorney General William Barr said the Department of Justice had found no evidence of widespread fraud that could overturn the consequences.
And on January 2, a few days after Trump called Rosen, Trump told Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Lafenceparger to “find” a vote to change the election results. He accused Lafence Purger of doing nothing more to overturn the election.
An email released last month also shows that in the last few weeks of the presidency, Trump and his allies pressured the Justice Department to investigate a completely unfounded allegation of widespread fraudulent elections. -Transfer to them conspiracy theories and even draft statutory documents they wanted to be best submitted courts.
Some people, especially Republican officials, believe we should simply forget these ridiculous details. Do not do it.
For the first time in US history, there was no change of power. Then you might simply regret this temporary revocation in the history of the American president. At best, Trump is considered a fool and the whole country feels embarrassed.
But Trump isn’t in the trash, not by accident. He turned one of America’s two major political parties into his own cult. He cast a major political division in the United States as a clash between those who believed in him and those who did not believe him about the 2020 elections. He has bolded state Republicans to carry out the most brave attacks on voting rights since Jim Crow. Most Republican senators and representatives dare not cross him. Some of his followers continue to threaten violence against the government. In all accounts, he is running for president again in 2024.
Donald Trump’s primitive fascism poses the greatest internal threat to American democracy since the civil war.
What do you do about it? Fight it, and the sooner the better.
This final revelation-Trump called on the Deputy Attorney General on December 27, claiming that “the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me” -triggered Section 3 of the Article 14 amendment.
