Retreating Russians leave bodies of comrades behind

As Russian forces rapidly abandoned key Ukrainian cities, they left the corpses of their comrades on the streets. This provided further evidence of Moscow’s recent military defeat on Tuesday as it struggles to cling to her four regions of Ukraine, which it illegally annexed last week. Meanwhile, the Russian Senate rubber-stamped the annexation following a “referendum” that Ukraine and its Western allies dismissed as fraudulent. It has formally denied any talks with Russia and declared negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin impossible after he decided to take over the region.
