A Texas woman confronts an off-duty police officer for obstructing driving and says she intended to go to the hospital when he shot her.
Lacresha Murray told KXXV she was driving home on Sunday Coppella Cove When she feels sick and makes a U-turn in a residential area. After the driver overtook the truck, he slowed down and drove in front of the truck again, Murray said.
Murray told KXXV to leave the truck with a stop sign and confront the driver after the driver began to hunt her down.
“I went out and jumped out (holding my hips) like your problem companion,” Murray told KXXV. “As soon as I did, he pulled the gun.”

“When I turned around and got out of the track, I heard pop, pop, pop, pop. All I could do was bend over and put on a duck,” Murray told KWTX.
According to Murray, the driver did not recognize himself as an off-duty police officer until the shooting was over, KWTX reported.
Coppella Cove police Police said they responded to the shooting on Sunday at 12:43 pm after several residents called 911.
“When police arrived at the scene, they discovered that off-duty Coppellas Cove police officers were involved in the shooting,” police said in a news release. “The policeman was not injured in the incident, but a female driver was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.”
The Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting and have not released any information about the incident as of Tuesday.
Coppella Cove is a city of approximately 32,000 in central Texas.
