Ian Crosses Florida: CBS News Flash Sept. 29, 2022

Hurricane Ian (now Tropical Storm) hits the Sunshine State, cutting power to over 2 million people in Florida. Powerful storm surges, 12 to 18 inches of rainfall, and 150 mph winds have caused trees and power lines to collapse, creating a dangerous situation. Emergency workers in some areas were unable to answer 911 calls. Ian was marching through Florida, and a 6-foot high storm surge was expected in the northeastern part of the state. Florida officials warned that residents could see tornadoes, high winds and flash floods.
