Three miners killed in an explosion in a Russian mine: engine


A Russian news agency said three miners were killed in an explosion at a Geiski ore mining and processing plant in the Orenburg region of Russia, a Russian news agency said on Saturday, the local prosecutor’s office said.

The office also said the remaining 88 people had been evacuated.

The Gaisky Copper and Zinc Mine and Gristmill Complex, one of Russia’s largest copper mines, is owned by the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company. It is located at the southernmost tip of the Ural Mountains near the border between Russia and Kazakhstan.
