DETROIT (AP) — Three aspiring rappers who met in prison have been missing for 10 days after a gig in Detroit was abruptly canceled due to equipment problems, police said.
Commander Michael McGinnis said Monday: “We have many unanswered questions that we are trying to find answers to.
The men living in Michigan have been identified as Armani Kelly, Montoya Givens and Dante Wicker.
He was scheduled to perform at a party at Lounge 31 in Detroit on January 21st, but the appearance was cancelled.
Kelly’s fiancée said her phone calls, text messages and social media contacts went unanswered since that night.
“I just ask for help. I’ll do anything. I need answers and for that I need closure because I never forget, I never quit,” Taylor Perrin said .
She said Kelly was working, taking college classes, and honing her rapping skills.
“Armani has emerged as a whole new person over time,” says Perrin. told the Detroit News.
McGinnis said police are checking license plate readers and security videos to try to solve the mystery.
“I am confident that with these tools, we can get the answers these families deserve,” he said.
