Two police officers were shot dead during a traffic outage

Berlin — Police said two police officers were shot dead on a country road in West Germany during regular patrols early on Monday.

Kaiserslautern police said in a statement that a shooting had taken place during a traffic check near Kusel at around 4:20 am.

Police officers reported on the radio that ammunition was being fired, spokesman Bernhard Christian Arfort told n-tv television. However, the reinforcements that arrived at the scene were unable to help the 24-year-old woman and the 29-year-old man.

Elfort said police officers didn’t know if they saw something special about the perpetrator’s vehicle they wanted to check, or just a regular check.

The young officer who was killed in the incident on Monday was still studying at a police academy, the GdP police union said.

“Regardless of motivation, this crime is reminiscent of executions and shows that police are endangering lives every day for our safety,” Nancy Faeser said on Twitter. rice field. She said, “We will do everything” to catch the criminal.
