Washington — A fighter with a US-led coalition shot down a drone in eastern Syria on Saturday after unmanned aerial vehicles were seen as a threat, US troops said.

“The coalition aircraft was successfully engaged and defeated by the UAS through air-to-air engagement near the mission support site Green Village,” said US Army Colonel Wayne Marotte, a spokesperson for the coalition.
