A Ugandan weightlifter who disappeared in Japan after failing to compete in the Tokyo Olympics last week was found.

Julius Sekitreco, 20, left a note that life in Uganda was difficult and she wanted to stay in Japan before she disappeared. He went missing last Friday and was reported to have bought a ticket for a bullet train to Nagoya, hundreds of kilometers away from a hotel in Izumisano.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, said the police “did everything” to find the player and was found in Mie Prefecture on Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Osaka Prefectural Police told The Daily Beast that discussions are ongoing about whether he will return to the team hotel.
