Ukraine and Russia agree on evacuation corridor as US sanctions

Russia and Ukraine agreed on Thursday the need for a humanitarian corridor to help civilians escape Moscow’s eight-day invasion as the United States and Britain attacked more oligarchs with sanctions. Thousands of people are believed to have been killed or injured as the biggest attack on European countries since the outbreak of World War II, creating one million refugees, damaging the Russian economy and dozens. There is a risk of broader conflict in the West that was unthinkable over the years. However, Russian troops continue to surround and attack Ukrainian cities, including Mariupol, a major eastern port that has been heavily bombed, with no water or electricity.
