Ukrainian town near Kyiv was severely damaged by a Russian attack

Ukrainian Chernihiv rescuers rescued people from a burning building following a Russian airstrike on Wednesday.

According to rescuers, the strike struck a house and two schools, killing at least 22 people.

Russian and Ukrainian negotiators met Thursday, saying Kyiv demanded a ceasefire and the evacuation of besieged civilians in the humanitarian corridor.

The invasion of Ukraine was blamed by the United Nations in a historic vote as global brands left Russia and the ruble hit a record low.
