Ann Arbor, Michigan-University of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh apparently jabs Ohio State University coach Ryan Day after Wolverines. 42-27 upset Saturday afternoon of the Birth of the Eyes.
Harbaugh said at a post-match press conference that the team was motivated by the garbage story prior to playing the 117th game. Then he added his own spice to his rivals.
“There is no doubt that people have said they have spurred us,” he said. “People standing on third base may think they hit a triple, but they didn’t.”
Harbaugh’s statement was widely seen in response to comments reported by Day last year.

Bucknuts.com reported in August 2020 that Day told the team to “multiply 100” to Michigan after he and Harbaugh had a disagreement at a conference call with other big ten coaches. ..
On the day of 2019, the program was restructured after the 6-7 season of 2011, especially taking over former Ohio State University coach Urban Meyer, who won all seven games in the series with Wolverines. Day was previously an aggressive coordinator for Meyer’s staff for two seasons.
Meyer was 4-0 against Harbaugh, who returned to his home school in 2015, but Day won his first match in 2019. Last season’s match was canceled due to a coronavirus outbreak within the Wolverines program.
The comments reported by Day seemed to be in Michigan’s mind in the aftermath of his first rivalry victory in 10 years.
Michigan’s defensive end, Aidan Hutchinson, specifically quoted them when addressing reporters.
“These people have looked down on us,” Hutchinson said. “Step on our jersey. We’re talking about multiplying us by 100. We’ll do all the Lara and we’ll talk about everything. But today it was about that.”
