Unvaccinated Texas Republican Governor Allen West is infected with COVID-19 and is taking unproven medication

Allen West, a candidate for governor of the Republican Party of Texas, announced on Saturday that he had been infected with COVID-19.

West, a former US Congressman and former Army lieutenant colonel in Florida, said he and his wife Angela were both positive.

“I want to thank you for your prayers,” West posted on his Facebook page.

He added that he was concerned about his oxygen saturation level. “It is 89 and should be 95.” He said x-rays show pneumonia, but it’s not “serious.”

“I’ll probably be in the hospital,” West said.

While his wife was vaccinated, West said he was not vaccinated.

“LTC West has publicly stated that he supports personal choice, which is reflected in his own family.” Another announcement on his Facebook said.

West has already adopted the “hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin protocol,” according to the announcement. There is no “protocol” for the use of these drugs, neither of which has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of COVID-19.
