Corvallis, Ore. (AP) — Oregon’s Department of Athletics said on Sunday it was gathering information afterward. Video surfaced showing Dax punching a man with Oregon gear outside linebacker DJ Johnson On the field after Saturday’s game at Reser Stadium.
Johnson hits the person from behind and is seen being detained and taken away by two people believed to be Oregon staff.
The Oregon State Athletic Department said in a statement: “We are aware that members of the football team interacted with fans after the game and are working to gather more information.
Oregon State recovered from a 21-point deficit in the third quarter to beat rival Ducks 38-34. With this loss, Oregon was ineligible for the Pac-12 Championship Game.
“We are aware of this issue and are confident that the Pac-12 conference and the University of Oregon will investigate this issue and address it appropriately,” Oregon spokesman Steve Clark told The Associated Press. said in a statement.
Clark says the university does not know the identity of the person who was hit and hopes that person was not injured.
Clark said no complaint had been filed with the university’s police station as of Sunday afternoon.
Pac-12 did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
