A man was arrested after law enforcement officers said he had found a puppy trapped in a scorching hot car parked in a casino garage in Las Vegas.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, a police officer who answered a call from a Bellagio guard last week found a puppy with a closed mouth tape in a locked vehicle.
The ambulance crew passed through the sunroof of the car and successfully pulled the dog.
Investigation revealed that the dog had been left in the car for about two hours without air conditioning, food and water.
Police said the 50-year-old Raul Carvajal left the puppy in the car while gambling as the outside temperature reached 113 degrees Celsius.
He faces charges involving deliberate and malicious torture of animals.
“Don’t leave people or animals in a hot car. Period,” police reminded the public.
