A tow company in Virginia received a strange call on October 8 from the local fire department, but it had nothing to do with the vehicle.

Galax Fire and Animal Rescue arrived at the barn before noon and found hundreds of pounds of cattle stranded in the basement, the fire department said on its Facebook page.

The fire department called a nearby towing company and used their equipment to strap the cow, lift it out of the basement, and lower it to a safe location nearby.
The rescue was completed within an hour, according to the fire department.
“Thank you to the Galax Fire Department and everyone who helped with the rescue,” Keri Hodger commented under the Fire Department’s Facebook post. I’m fine, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.”
Galax is about 100 miles southwest of Roanoke.
