The report is based on the usage habits of American users. It shows that YouTube and Facebook are the two most popular social platforms in the local area, while YouTube is the one that continues to grow. The usage rate is determined by 2019 year73% to 81% in 2021; Facebook will stay at 69% in 2019.
The report mentioned that although Facebook’s growth has slowed down in the past five years, it is still one of the most popular social platforms in the United States. That is to say, the level of growth is not only Facebook, the figure below also shows that other social platforms have similar phenomena. However, there is also a platform that has recorded significant growth like YouTube, and that is Reddit, which increased from 11% in 2019 to 18%.
The growth rate of a platform is one thing, but user addiction is another number. 49% of the respondents said that they would visit Facebook several times a day; 45% of users would open Snapchat more than once a day, 38% of IG users, and more than one-third of YouTube users would.
As for TikTok, which has become popular in recent years, it is also on the list in this report. 21% of US users say they are using it, and 48% of them are 18 to 29 years old. Not surprisingly, among the same age group of respondents, 95% said they used YouTube, 71% used IG, 70% and 65% of FB and Snapchat, respectively.
